The Winter Blues

By: Danielle Kerr The seasons are changing and so are our moods. There is less sunlight, the days are colder, the nights are longer, and our emotions can take us on a roller-coaster ride with little warning. The gloomy days can take a big toll on our moods, making it much harder to get motivated to be active when the need for comfort calls you—how many times have you chosen the cozy blanket, the comfort foods or the addictions to ease the pain of the winter blues? It can be the easy way out in the short term, but it will create issues in the long term. However, you will be happier in the long term when you choose to...

Underuse happens when everyday life cramps the style of our bodies’ natural design. For instance,...

So, are home workouts effective? The answer is, YES! Depending on your goal, home workouts are just as effective as hitting the gym or a group class. If your goal is to run a marathon, only working at home on your mat may not be the most effective approach. However, if your goal is to stay healthy, manage day-to-day pain, gain muscle or lose weight? A home workout can do that for you.  What about equipment, you may ask? Ideally, some weights would be grand, but other household items can be...
